Oink, MOO, Cockle- Doodle- Doo Eli turned Two!

Hi everyone! We hope all is well.

It has been a while since we last updated the blog, but I definitely wanted to take time to share with everyone Eli's 2nd birthday bash.  I can't believe Eli is officially 2 years old. He is 28 lbs.  and measures 35 inches.  He is talking A LOT.  He is now saying short sentences such as "I don't want it", and "no sleepy time".  He has been up to a lot lately and is bonding and making great friendships.  Eli has become extremely social, and very friendly.  As a matter of fact he is too friendly for my taste.  He is not afraid of strangers, and I can't wait for him to be able to understand that not everyone is a "good" person.

Anywho onto his birthday.  On June 10, 2012 we celebrated Eli's 2nd birthday with a farm inspired bash!  We decided to do a farm animal bash because Eli LOVES animals.  We found a great place called "The Art Farm in the City" which was a perfect fit for the theme.  We sent out farm inspired invitations to his closest friends.
This year we also focused on setting up a nice cake table that would reflect the theme.
I took starbucks frappuccino bottles stripped them of their labels and placed these custom made "Farm Fresh Milk" labels.  I also got vintage stripped straws and milk to add the finishing touch.
I also added these small plastic farm animals to add a little "spice" to the table :)
We decided on a round cake with fondant and strawberry short cake filling.  Of course we added a farm house and a number 2.  I went to a super market and asked if they could give me a wooden crate to place the cake on (that was an adventure on it's own since we tried several places).
Also on the table were two small blocks of hay which I used to put the custom made cake pops.  The cake pops were in the shape of pigs, sheep, cows, and a chicken.  I got these made by Lisa at goodiebites.com

Also as goodie bags I had a wonderful lady custom make these small tote bags for the kids.  They turned out just perfect!
Here is a good picture of the birthday boy!
And here are some of our favorite pictures from the party :)
A little coloring to welcome the children
Parachute time, bubbles, dancing and singing!
Art project: Coloring their own box.
The Art Farm is also wonderful because there were plenty of animals for the children to play with.  Eli got to pet rabbits, turtles, a mouse, a bird, and even a madagascan cockroach (eeeww).  Last but not least he got to blow out his candles (which he did BEFORE we were done singing happy birthday LOL).

Overall his birthday was amazing and he enjoyed every single minute.  I will add all of the pictures shortly to my facebook account.  There are so many great ones! Again this year I would like to thank Iasmel from Bigger Dreams Productions for the wonderful pictures! You can contact him here if you are interested in pictures for your event: http://www.wix.com/iasmelvz/bigger-dreams-production#!.

I would like to thank everyone for coming out and making his birthday party special.  For everyone who could not be there, we hope you enjoyed catching up on the blog.

XoXo

Eli & Mommy.
