Nature Center Visit

Today we were invited by our new friends at Gymboree to the Greenburgh Nature Center.  Eli had a wonderful time petting some animals and he even got to see some real sheep.  The conservatory even had a space for butterflies, which Eli really liked.

I was so happy when the staff brought out a tortoise for Eli to pet.  My dad had been teaching Eli how to say "tortuga" which is Spanish for "turtle".  Funny thing is he has said the word before, but today he wouldn't say it.

Then Eli found his long lost uncle.  Don't you see the resemblance? lol

We had a great time, and are so thankful that we were invited to tag along for the day!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Eli @ the Sprinklers

Eli and I took some time to cool off in anticipation of the heat wave that's coming our way.  We visited the sprinklers yesterday and of course the little fish loved it!
Just look at that fat belly

Eli is still climbing EVERYTHING.  I can't turn around for a second! Today I was picking out clothes for him to wear to the playground.  I picked out a shirt and shorts which literally took 2 seconds.  I turn around and I see this:
I tried my hardest not to freak out so that I wouldn't scare him.  I have to say how amazing he is at keeping his balance.  He managed to climb off of it, and go about his business to climb other stuff...
You can tell I was so inexperienced when I fell in love with this crib.  I thought to myself lot's of drawers to put things away.  Never did the thought cross my mind that my beautiful future darling baby would pull out the drawers to climb on them.

So does anyone know how I can get an extra set of eyes implanted in the back of my head? I would also like an extra set of arms that extend in .5 seconds... I think this would really come in handy!

We hope everyone stays cool!

One for One and Climbing

Eli has found a new skill........ CLIMBING! We are thrilled!!! Okay- maybe not, but I guess we are happy he's learning new ways of getting around and getting to places he hasn't been before.  Recently he has climbed into the bathtub with his clothes on (of course with my help and supervision).  He also climbs on the refrigerator anytime I open the door, and takes stuff out to throw on the floor :)
Here are some other things Eli is climbing:

My fluffy sofa pillows

The steps at the playground while his play date cheers him on!
And of course he climbs up the slide instead of sliding down!
Because of Eli's new found skill, I feel I'm closer to a heart attack than ever before.  Of course his climbing skill has led to a few slips and falls, but that does not deter the little fellow from climbing everything in site! Should I buy a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads now or later? Maybe I should just put him in a bubble, what do you guys think?

I realized I haven't talked about products that we love lately so I wanted to talk to you guys about shoes.  As many of you know I never really had Eli wear any shoes until he started walking.  Eli was always in socks that "resembled" sneakers.  Our favorites were Trumpette socks and Me In Mind Socks ( I will miss those).  Anyway I wanted to take the time to talk to everyone about Toms.  Eli is wearing them in the playground pictures above .

Eli has the Blue Green Tie Dye Tiny TOMS
Out of all of the shoes I've gotten him so far these are our favorite.  They are easy to put on and take off with a velcro "hook and loop" and are very comfortable on his feet.  Not only are they stylish but the best part about TOMS is that they have something called "One for One", which means that for every pair of shoes you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need.  There is nothing better than shopping for a good cause.  I am in love with their movement.  You can purchase Toms for yourself as well (I know I will be getting a pair the next time I hit the mall).  To learn more about them you can visit their website at toms.com .  Happy Shopping!

We hope everyone is having a great week!

A trip to Adventure Aquarium

This weekend Eli got to spend some quality time with his cousin Jayvian.  I have to say I love to watch them play together.  Jayvian teaches Eli so much, and they are absolutely hilarious.  Saturday we took Eli to his Gymboree class and then treated him to breakfast at iHop.  During breakfast Rigo thought it would be funny to have Eli taste some lemon, and this is what came out of that:
We then headed to grandma Janet's house to meet up with Jayvian to have some play time.  Coincidentally they both were wearing the same shirt and looked so adorable together lol
Sunday we headed to the "Adventure Aquarium" which is a 2 hour car ride from home.  Although the ride was long the boys behaved themselves and the trip was def. worth it.  The boys had an amazing time, and secretly I believe the adults had even more fun lol
Looking at the little fish
Fascinated by the Sea Turtles

One of the cool things about the aquarium is that they have a lot of interactive exhibits.  We were able to pet sharks, sting rays, and even a chinchilla.

I have to say the two best exhibits were the sharks and of course the Hippos.  We were all in awe and Eli kept saying WOW lol

One of the sharks swimming above us in the shark tunnel.
After visiting the shop we called our visit to an end.  The boys and everyone had an amazing time!

We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  As always it's great to share with everyone!

Socializing

We are extremely late but we hope everyone had a wonderful and safe independce day.  Eli and I took the long weekend to relax and enjoy each others company.  We had initially planned to go away that weekend and visit family in Pennsylvania.  However daddy was called to work at the last minute and we had to cancel our plans.

With that said we took Eli to Gymboree for the first time instead.  He loved it! We enrolled him so that he can start socializing with other children, and "practice" sharing.  I was shocked at how social Eli is.  He jumped right in without hesitation, and acted as if he had been there many times before.  He also walked up to the teacher and asked her to pick him up.  I have to admit I was extremely jealous since he had never met her before and went with her pretty easily lol  As for the sharing piece we still have a lot of work to do!

We had a lot of fun at Gymboree and I def. recommend to everyone, specially once your children are on the move.  On July 4th we took Eli to Friendly's for brunch, and we ordered him his own meal for the very first time :) He had a delicious grilled cheese sandwhich, apple slices, and apple juice YUM!

And speaking of food, Eli is looking quite "full".  He is a non stop eating machine , which explains the little pot belly he's been carrying around.  I can't wait for his next doctors appointment to see how much he has grown.

As always it's great sharing with everyone.  Have a blessed night!
