This weekend Eli also helped me make chocolate dipped pretzels to decorate the presents. This was a very fun easy activity to do, and not too messy. Eli is a natural in the kitchen just like his dad. Here are the steps if you'd like to try to make them as well.
Get a bag of Snyder's jumbo pretzels (Try not to eat them). A flat pan/plate or anywhere to put the pretzels to dry. Lay Non stick baking paper on top of the plate where you will be placing the pretzels.
A bag of white chocolate chips, that you can melt in the microwave (Follow instructions on bag). Stir the chocolate until it's completely melted and "workable". Dip the ends of the pretzels until covered in chocolate.
Use sugar sprinkles to decorate the pretzels in whatever colors you choose. (We chose green and red).
Leave to dry or place them in the refrigerator.
You can then place them in clear plastic bags.
We used the pretzels to decorate our Christmas presents to add a little spunk to the gifts.
Also this weekend Eli got his very first hair cut. Eli behaved so well, and even got a prize with a certificate for being so brave! Apparently the trick was to allow him to blow bubbles while they cut his hair. He didn't even notice the scissors.
After Eli got his hair cut we headed to the mall to pay Santa a visit. I didn't think Eli would even recognize him but I was wrong. He kept staring at him and saying Santa. He walked right over and sat on his lap. He was a little star struck and wouldn't close his mouth lol It was very difficult to get a good shot but this is what we got:
We ended the night by going over to celebrate Christmas eve with family at Grandma Bella's like we do every year. Everyone was so impressed with Eli's hair cut. Here is our favorite picture of the night.
We got home at 2 in the morning and we were super exhausted. Eli went to sleep and that's when the real fun began. Rigo and I stood up till 4 in the morning putting together Eli's surprise gift. His very own play kitchen. Every time I cook Eli is always at my back trying to help me. Now that he's 18 months he is always trying to imitate everything grown ups do. A play kitchen is the perfect way to allow him to use pretend play and develop his imagination. Needless to say the kitchen was a HUGE hit.
And of course Eli was playing perfectly well with his kitchen until he did this...
I guess his imaginations goes way beyond what I can come up with...
We hope everyone had a wonderful, amazing, fabulous Christmas/Holiday Season. For the family who was not here with us, we love you and miss you. We're looking forward to next weekend's New Year celebration :)
Love
Eli & Mommy!
