We wanted to take some time out to catch up with everyone, since we haven't been able to blog lately. Last week Eli and I had to tough out a "hurricane scare" all on our own. It's amazing how things like that would never scare me pre-baby. As a mother your whole perspective changes. Usually I was the one making fun of all the frantic people at the grocery stores buying bundles of food but this time I joined them. When you have children you just can't take any chances. We got prepared by buying lot's of water, batteries, candles, jar food, and non-refrigerated milk. It was extra scary because Rigo was not going to be home since he had to work, so it was just Eli, the cat, and myself. Thank goodness the storm passed without breaking a tree branch in our neighborhood. But keeping a toddler entertained in doors for over 24 hours was a bit of a mission. Here is how Eli and I spent our time:
We got in touch with our "artsy" side again:
After the huge mess (Eli got paint all over the doors and floor) it was bubble bath time!
Then after watching the scary news we decided it would be a good idea to make some tin foil hats and do a rain dance while bouncing up and down on the couch...
The very next morning things were still a little crazy outside so Eli and I decided to play super hero. Eli got to wear this special cool cape... (it's amazing how much you can do with a burp cloth).
It was around this time that the "hurricane" dissolved into a tropical storm and daddy got to come home! ***Thank Goodness***
