Hi everyone, hope all is well.
I was cleaning our computer today, and realized I never blogged about our trip to Honduras over the summer. There are so many beautiful pictures it would be a shame not to document this trip.
During the month of July Rigo's cousin was going to have her 15th birthday celebration AKA "Quincianera". Although Rigo and I have been married for 8 years, we had never had the opportunity to travel to Honduras, so that I could meet the rest of his family. We were also excited to have Eli spend time with his great grandparents, who he had never met. This trip was also very exciting for Eli since his cousin Jayvian was coming along as well.
We took a 4.5 hour flight straight to Honduras from NYC. Lucky for us Eli behaved himself and Jayvian took a long nap. Traveling with two children can be challenging but the boys did an awesome job. We landed in Honduras and took a long ride to the town where Rigo's mother is from (forgive me for not knowing the name). The roads in Honduras are very interesting to say the least. Lot's of dangerous curves, and green vegetation everywhere. We made a turn into a very small dirt road, and after a few minutes we arrived to our final destination. This town is the complete opposite of NYC. Small brightly painted homes, palm trees and dirt roads colliding, set against a green mountainous back drop. The town and the people simply beautiful. There we met some of Rigo's aunts, and uncles, and some of his cousins. Eli also got to meet his Great Grandmother (My mother in law's mother).

The time we spent in this town getting to know Rigo's family was definitely a blessing. Eli and Jayvian both got to enjoy care free moments. The boys played with rocks, dirt, got to ride horses and, just simply be one with nature. In addition everyone we came across was extremely kind. Rigo's family was willing to bend over backwards to make us feel welcomed. I am so thankful to them for this.
We also got to visit Rigo's father side of the family. It was a very long ride to the other side of Honduras, the town's name is Tela. This town was more coastal, with a nice beach, and beautiful lush trees. The first thing we did was meet Rigo's paternal grandparents. This was also the first time Eli got to meet them. We took some amazing pictures, with the children's great grandparents. I know Eli will appreciate these pictures so much as he grows older. It is very important to me, that Eli have an understanding of where he comes from, and I want him to appreciate his roots.

We spent the night and the next day at a beautiful resort. There the boys got to play in the pool, and build castles on the beach.
Last but not least we got to head back to the "Quincianera" party which was amazingly well put together. The boys were in awe of Rigo's cousin's "princess dress". Eli kept asking me why she was a Princess LOL

We hope everyone enjoyed this blog, and I look forward to updating more often.
Love
